Bizarro à Saint-Germain

This may be the first article written just after a visit in the history of this blog! The fact that it is mainly composed of photographs probably helps :)

2013 is the second year places from rue Jacob and rue des Saints-Pères gather to organize Bizarro à Saint-Germain, a path of exhibitions of curiosities.

These six places, shops, galleries from Saint-Germain-des-Prés are precisely Librairie Signatures, Galerie Frédéric Castaing, Siki de Somalie, Librairie Alain Brieux, Galerie Géraldine Banier and Xavier Delesalle.

To make it short, Librairie Signatures and Galerie Frédéric Castaing sell autographs, Librairie Alain Brieux sells antique science and medicine books and also has scientific objects, Galerie Géraldine Banier has contemporary art, Siki de Somalie creates objects and jewels from what you would find in curiosity cabinets, and Xavier Delesalle has antiques from many places and times.

All six mixed their belongings, and in every one of the six addresses you can find a composition of all their collections, with the purpose of re-creating curiosity cabinets.

Visiting all six places is quite short but the people in each one were very welcoming and happy to explain what they had exposed. Especially I would like to thank our hostess Céline Mary in Galerie Frédéric Castaing for her explanations and for showing me autographs of Théophile Gautier, Jules Barbey d’Aurevilly and Oscar Wilde!

Of course, as my friends and I were close to it, we went to the famous taxidermist Deyrolle.. who forbids photos :/ So please enjoy Bizarro!

#Bizarro, some instagrams coming, the rest is in the Canon and will come later!
